Building a Resilient and Inclusive Tourism Industry for Kenya’s Growth

Director GTRCMC-EA joined the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary for Tourism alongside other industry leaders in an early morning engagement, on 8th July 2025, with the Kenya Association of Hotel & Caterers and hospitality leaders to advance bold solutions for propelling Kenya’s tourism sector forward.
From air access to MICE tourism and digital marketing, the discussions focused on strengthening partnerships and aligning strategies towards the ambitious target of 5.5 million international visitors by 2027.
The CS emphasized the importance of *peace* as a critical pillar for tourism, while highlighting that youth empowerment and women’s inclusion are key to transforming the sector. Together, stakeholders committed to scaling up initiatives in entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and skills development to create opportunities for young people and women to thrive in a dynamic and inclusive industry.
These collaborative efforts are shaping a resilient, competitive, and prosperous tourism sector for Kenya.
