On 6th May 2025, the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre – Eastern Africa (GTRCMC-EA) hosted a high-level strategic meeting at Kenyatta University between the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and KUTV. The session aimed to explore collaborative opportunities to enhance the visibility and authenticity of the Magical Kenya brand.
The KTB delegation, led by Lorna Nyagah, Director of Marketing Support Services, included senior leaders from Public Relations, Communication, Partnerships, and ICT. Representing KUTV were the Director of KUTV, Director of Public Relations and Communication, TV Producer, and ICT Manager, among others.
Key Focus Areas of the Meeting Included:
-
Developing compelling destination content that highlights Kenya’s unique tourism products, immersive experiences, rich activities, and world-class amenities and infrastructure.
-
Leveraging multimedia platforms and emerging technologies to create and distribute high-impact tourism content.
-
Empowering youth involvement, recognizing that over 75% of Kenya’s population is under 35. The goal is to tap into their creativity and innovation to generate digital campaigns, visual storytelling, and tech-driven tourism hype.
-
Ensuring that content is accessible and adaptable for various media platforms to boost Magical Kenya’s brand reach both locally and globally.
This partnership signals a forward-thinking approach to tourism promotion, placing an emphasis on authentic storytelling, resilience, and innovation. Together, KTB and KUTV — with the support of GTRCMC-EA — are reimagining Kenya’s tourism narrative, one authentic story at a time.
