The “Tourism Safety and Security Capacity Building Programme,” themed “Enhancing Safety and Security in Kenya’s Tourism Industry,” were one-day workshops held in Mombasa on 3rd July 2024 and in Eldoret on 12th July 2024. Graced by the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Kenya, the events equipped Kenyan tourism professionals with essential skills in risk assessment, crisis communication and management, and emergency response planning. The events were hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and were facilitated by Global Tourism Resilience Centre, Kenya Tourism Federation, Tourism Police Unit, National Disaster Operation Center among others. They fostered collaboration and promoted sustainable tourism practices for improved safety and security.
