The World’s Leading Tourism Initiative 2021

Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre was named the ‘World’s Leading Tourism Initiative 2021’ during this year’s World Travel Awards held in Dubai.

The Centre, which is located in Jamaica, with a Satellite Centre in Kenya, supports countries with destination preparedness, management and recovery from disruptions and/or crises that negatively impact tourism and threaten economies and livelihoods.

More Satellite Centers are in progress in Nepal, South Africa, Malta, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Oman, Japan and Costa Rica. Discussions to start new centres is undergoing with Jordan, Greece, Ghana, Botswana, Spain, Portugal, Malaysia and other countries.

Hon. Edmund Bartlett, the Minister of Tourism in Jamaica and Hon. Najib Balala, the Minister of Tourism in Kenya are the chairs of the two Centres.
