Guides are one of the most important part of the tourism value chain. They offer direct service to the tourists and therefore possess immense influence on the final satisfaction outcome.
The East Africa Tour Guides and Drivers Association, recognizing this role, are in the forefront in continuously upgrading their members capacity to deliver beyond expectations.
During this year’s AGM (29th and 30th Jan 2021), the EATGDA brought together key stakeholders to dialogue on how to adapt to the ‘ new normal ‘ and support recovery and ultimately build resilience.
The MoTW (with TRA, TF, TFC, KWS etc), Tourism Police Unit, CECs of 7 Counties, Tourism Resilience Centre etc all shared their views on the best way forward….
The guides are keen on embracing the domestic market, but they have no idea what the expectations from the market are….and therefore information on domestic market tastes and preferences was seen as a priority area of research…..
