Military and Police in Tourism Resilience

The GTRCMC-EA is collaborating with the International Peace Support Training Centre in linking the Military and the Police in creating resilience in the tourism industry through repositioning the country and region’s brand and image to upscale competitiveness. Plans are underway to build capacity of the security systems in the tourism industry in Kenya and across Eastern Africa. Extensive collaborative research will guide in Rebranding Previous Conflicts Areas.

The tourism industry will also be participating in the upcoming International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) Annual Conference in Kenya in October 2023.

The International Peace Support Training Centre Management, above, are keen in supporting the tourism industry in enhancing both perceived and real safety and security for resilience.

International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC)

  1. Is an open and voluntary association of centres, institutions and programmes dealing with peace operations research, education, and training.
  2. It has membership from over 200 countries.
  3. International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) will be hosting the 27th conference of IAPTC in Nairobi.
  4. Expected number of delegates = 300
  5. This will be a great opportunity to show case Kenya as a tourist destination and a business hub.
  6. Various MDAs have been brought together to form the National Organising Committee, including GTRCMC-EA . More will still be called in to scale up the preparation and hosting of the event to International standards and to give the exemplary touch of Kenyan style.
